Resumen/Abstract: | CrpP, an enzyme able to phosphorylate ciprofloxacin, was described in 2018 as encoded within the plasmid pUM505 of Pseudomonas aeruginosa; on cloning crpP in a J53 background, the MIC of ciprofloxacin rose from 0.008 to 0.06 mg/L.1 Thereafter, crpP-like genes have been reported in Escherichia coli and Klebsiella pneumoniae.2 At present, the prevalence of CrpP and its geographical dissemination, presence within mobile genetic elements and potential ancestral origins remain to be determined. In this scenario, the advances in genomic sequencing may provide valuable information about some of these questions. Thus, this study aimed to determine the presence... |
