Abstract: The gender gap is one of the worldwide problems confronting companies, organizations, and governments through different initiatives according to their action contexts. In the case of the gender gap in engineering, although there are a considerable number of projects and studies, there are few studies that analyse the perception of the engineering students about the gender gap. This work presents a case study in two Latin American universities in Peru and Argentina in order to identify the perception of computer engineering students about issues related to gender and diversity. The results show significant differences between both institutions, with particular attention to the differences in perception between men and women in each country. Moreover, the resuits reveal that only women from Argentine believe that there are differences between women and men in the academic context (N=textbf75).
